Best Ever Healthier Chocolate Brownies
Have you had brownies before? If you have not you are truly missing out. These Best Ever Healthier Chocolate Brownies are truly the best I have had so far.
I think I have a couple of brownie recipes that I have posted on my blog but I must admit that this one is by far my favorite. It may be the fact that it contains 12 oz of melted chocolate chips in the batter. Not bad at all right?
Anyhow, I will not elaborate any further, I just hope you get to try it soon and that you like it as much as we do. This is super chocolaty, tasty and easy to do.
Enjoy!
Best Ever Healthier Chocolate Brownies
Miryam's original recipe
Yield: 10-12 servings
Total Time: 20-30 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup olive oil, or coconut oil
2 organic eggs
1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
1/2 cup unrefined sugar (you can do 3/4 cups)
1 tsp vanilla extract (I sometimes use chocolate extract or amaretto liquor)
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour (minus 2 tablespoons)
1/2 teaspoon aluminum free baking powder
12 oz dark chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour a 8x8 square baking pan and set aside.
In a bowl, with a wire whisk, whisk first 5 ingredients. Add flour and baking powder and incorporate well.
In a bowl place chocolate chips and microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir well. Continue microwaving in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
Incorporate melted chocolate into the batter and mix through. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
Nutrition facts were calculated based on 12 servings. The software gave these brownies a nutrition grade of D. I can only imagine what the nutrition facts of regular brownie recipes are out there would be because they for sure use much more sugar, white flour and butter rather than olive oil. Olive oil contains healthier fats :-)
This looks GOOD! and healthier would mean I can eat more right?
Yum!!!!!! I love it! Making these pronto.

Wow, I might have to make these as well. Does the olive oil flavor the brownies at all? Possible to sub with something or you think that’s the way to go??
skinny fat kid,
totally the way to go, no need to substitute, you can’t taste the flavor at all. Just make sure you use just olive oil not the extra virgin kind.
This looks amazing, I’ll definitely be trying out these brownies. I live in NJ too! :-)
I love this… so good. Have you tried Healthy Chocolate to make the brownies. I found some that not only tastes great but does the body good. Try it and tell me what you think. http://www.mychocolatelifestyle.com
About olive oil: I have used extra virgin olive oil in all your recipes and nobody could tell that there was olive oil in them. This recipe was the only one where you could tell I used olive oil, but the flavor was really, really subtle. I’m sure with normal olive oil you couldn’t tell at all. :)
I liked this better than the brownie pie recipe! I think these were more moist. I only used 1/2 cup sugar and they were sugary enough for us. Thanks!
Oh cool ;-)
thanks for making the recipes even healthier with your suggestions……
Regards and thanks again
this looks soo good and i love the fact that theres no butter or white flour! ive recently made choc chip cookies with all wheat as well and turned out to be awesome too…never would’ve thought all wheat works :P
have bookmarked this! thanks! i
Yummmm…. will make it soon. Try Xocai healthy chocolate with your chocolate recipes. It is delicious and good for you. http://mychocolatelifestyle.com
What a dish, browni is awesome. My brother loves it very much. in other words he is mad for it.i will surely prepare i for him.
Sharing these on my facebook page today :)
Can i use coco powder instead of chips? If so how much should I use?
No because the chocolate chips help with the structure of the brownies. The cocoa powder doesn’t have the same effect so I don’t know if the brownies would turn out the same. Sorry!
This looks amazing1 I would definitely try for my sisters birthday.
