Avocado and chocolate smoothie
Avocado has become one of my ultimate favorite ingredients to use for cooking, baking and sweet treats. This avocado smoothie is the perfect example. Not only this one is delicious but also extremely nutritious.
This avocado and chocolate smoothie was the bomb. It didn’t taste like avocados at all and the fact that I used frozen bananas made the smoothie like an ice cream treat, more like a shake type of thing. My kids wanted me to make more after each drunk their own serving.
Smoothies are a regular thing in our house hold. Most often than not we take them at night but sometimes I also make them for breakfast or as a snack.
When you make this avocado and chocolate smoothie make sure you freeze the ripe bananas in chunks. This is easier when adding to your blender. You may also add some flax seed meal for some added nutrition and fiber. I forgot this time around but I will when I make it again since I still have some avocados.
I need to add some more variations for smoothies in my blog however I have really good ones that you can also find in my Eat Well, Live Well eBook.
Here you can see two of the five smoothie recipes I have in my eBook Eat Well, Live Well. The left one is super power goji berry smoothie and the right one chocolate bomb smoothie.
Well I hope everyone is getting their fruits and veggies each day. If you are not I suggest you start making some smoothies, which is a great way to incorporate them all. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have a smoothie each day.
Enjoy!

Avocado and chocolate…a heavenly match, isn’t it?!
Loving this yummilicious and luscious smoothie.
Can you taste the banana?
Yes, a little bit :-)
I love this type of smoothie. I just used avocado in my smoothie this morning, it makes them so incredibly rich!
Does it work without the protein powder? My kids pediatrician recommends they don’t have protein powder often. Something to do with it being hard on their kidneys. But, my son needs to gain weight and otherwise, this seems like a perfect smooths for him. I guess I am wondering if it will taste chocolate enough or would I add more cocoa.
Yes for sure. You don’t need it at all if you don’t want to add it on. Thanks for visiting.
I think my mom (which is very much into those kind of things and tasts would like). But on my side, honestly? The taste of the avocado is VERY strong & overpower’s any other taste. I had tu put apple sauce, lots more coco-powder, hot chocolate powder, maple sirup to try to balance it out & still… I could barely taste the chocolate since the avocado taste was so strong. Mabe my avocados were biger than normal… but it didn’t seem to me.
So I guess a good recepie for avocado lovers but on my side, i’ll keep them for yummy guacamole!
Even w/ the 3 ripe bananas in it? Maybe your bananas weren’t that ripe and that is why the avocado flavor was over powering the smoothie bc w/ 2 avocados and 3 bananas the flavor of the avocados shouldn’t be that intense at all.
Can this be frozen?
Yes you can!
