Dark Chocolate and Orange Truffles
These truffles are simple, easy to make and delicious. This is the simple basic truffle starter also called Ganache. You can develop your own flavor.
For this recipe I used Triple Sec and real Orange flavor extract to flavored the truffles, which is one of my favorite.
For the coating you can also use whatever you have on hand, I had unsweetened organic coconut but cocoa powder, any chopped nuts will work well too. In any event, this recipe speaks for itself so I hope you like it.
Enjoy!
Orange chocolate truffles
Miryam's original recipe
Yield: 30-40 truffles depending on size
Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
1 lb dark chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
2-3 tablespoon triple sec, more if you like
1 tablespoon real orange extract
Coating
1 cup unsweetened organic shredded coconut, you may need a little bit more.
Directions:
In a sauce pan heat the heavy cream until boiling point. Watch because it will boiled over very easily.
Place dark chocolate chips in a glass bowl and pour heavy cream over. Immediately start mixing with a whisk until the Ganache is formed. Pour liquor and incorporate well.
Cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge until firm. Roll balls, I used a small cookie scoop, and coat with favorite covering such as shredded coconut, cocoa powder or chopped nuts.
Nutrition facts calculated based on the recipe giving 35 truffles.
